Short description
Whether you're going to a festival or just planning a cozy barbecue on warm summer evenings in the garden with friends, beer bowling is always a sure hit đłđ»
Detailed description
Before we present the rules, let's take a look at what you need for beer bowling:
đ« Two teams of at least 2 people
đ§ââïž A judge
đȘ Chairs for all players
✠A ball (preferably a soccer ball)
đ» Plenty of drinks
đïž A grass or outdoor area
It's okay to have a co-judge if the main judge is uncertain, though the co-judge cannot make final rulings.
When everything is set, set up the lane. According to the Danish Bowling Union, the lane should be 10-12 meters long and 2-4 meters wide.
Place two chairs at each end of the court, with 1-2 meters between them and backrests facing away. The teams will sit facing each other.
Here are the rules:
- The teams consist of at least 2 people each. Take turns bowling for the opponent's 'target beer' while seated. If the beer is knocked over, the team whose beer was toppled must finish a beer together. Toss it back to the opponent's half after finishing as an obstacle (it must be over the midline and at least half a meter away).
- The ball must be bowled, not thrown; if it doesn't hit your half first, it's an 'airball' and invalid. The opponent gets the ball and you take a penalty sip.
- Always get the judge's permission before bowling, collecting the ball, or drinking. Forgetting earns you a penalty sip.
- Show an empty beer by turning it upside down; otherwise, the judge may issue a penalty.
Additional rules for added fun:
đą 'Spears are coming' â referee yells at any time, players drop to the ground. The last team takes penalty sips.
đ€ 'Captain Morgan' â stand with one foot on the chair. Last team takes penalty sips.
đ 'Sex positions' â teams position in a 'sex position'. Last team takes penalty sips. Comfort is key!
âïž 'Assault' â at festivals, playfully 'attack' anyone on the lane.
